New Referees
In order to qualify to referee in Spring 2019, potential referees will need to do the following:
- Be at least 12 years of age by December 31, 2018
- Take the Spring 2019 Referee Training course (the course is $35) on Saturday, March 23rd, 2019 (time and location TBD).
- Pass the test at the end of the Referee Training course with at least a 70% grade
- Fill out and turn in the 2019 HCS Referee Info Sheet (requires the referee's social security number for 1099's, should they need to be issued)
- Fill out and turn in the 2019 HCS Referee waiver (requires the signature of a parent or guardian for referees under the age of 18)

The Spring 2019 Referee Training Class will be held on March 23rd, 2019 (time and location TBD).
Required Referee Equipment (to be provided by the referee):
- Soccer referee shirt (yellow is the preferred color)
- Comfortable soccer cleats (no toe pick)
- Black soccer shorts
- Black & white striped referee socks
- High quality whistle
- Yellow & red referee cards
- Stopwatch
- Soccer referee flags
- Referee patch (provided by Hendricks Community Soccer)

Referees Returning from Fall 2018:
Referees who refereed for Hendricks Community Soccer in Fall 2018 will be eligible to referee again in Spring 2019. Returning referees will be required to attend one of the HCS Returning Referee meetings. We will have two meetings available to choose from:
- March 16th, 2019, time and location TBD
- April 6th, 2019, time and location TBD
After a short refresher course and some time for a Q&A period, returning referees will take an abbreviated test to recertify. The ability to referee will hinge upon passing the test with a grade of at least 70%.
If you are a returning referee who refereed in Fall 2018, you will receive an email from Referee Director, Terence Viefhaus asking if you wish to return to referee in the Fall 2018 season. Please make sure that you reply to that email (or email him directly [email protected]) to let Terence know you wish to referee again in the Spring 2019 season.
If you are a returning referee, but you did not referee in Fall 2018, you will need to take the New Referee Training Class March 23rd in order to referee for Spring 2019.
