HCS Fall 2021 Teens Age Division

***TEENS AGE DIVISION - IMPORTANT INFO***

HCS has joined the West Central Suburban Soccer Federation so our Teens can play select soccer (which used to be called rec+) and compete against other clubs in the local area.

We know this is not a good fit for all of our players, so we are now offering the option of playing select soccer, rec soccer, or both, to all of the players who register.

Rec soccer is for players who do not wish to participate in select soccer (WCSSF). Teens rec soccer games will be on Saturdays, in alignment with the usual HCS schedule.

Select soccer is for players who wish to participate only in select soccer (WCSSF).

Both is for players who wish to participate in select soccer as well as rec soccer games. If you choose both, your main team will be the select soccer team, and you can also participate in rec soccer games. While you will not be required to participate in rec soccer practices, you will be welcome if you wish to. If we have enough players choose both, it will make the rec games a lot more fun.

More about Select Soccer (Rec plus) & WCSSF:

WCSSF is run through Indiana Soccer. Since HCS is not a member of Indiana Soccer, TriWest Soccer Club has graciously agreed to allow us to register our Teens team(s) under their organization.

Please be aware that each player who registers will be required to submit their birth certificate to Indiana Soccer if they have not already done so in the past, even though most players have already done so for HCS. This will be necessary for Indiana Soccer to verify the players’ ages in order to issue the required player cards.

The WCSSF rules are very specific that teams need to be created in such a way as to make them as equally matched as possible. Because of the WCSSF rules about team creation, we will not be able to put the same weight on coach or player requests for those participating. Because of team size specifications, there is also the possibility that once the teams are maxed out, we may not be able to take any further registrations. This means that the earlier you register, the more likely your player will have a spot on a team.

Games will not fall within the normal parameters for HCS. Games will be scheduled by WCSSF. There are 8 to 10 games per season, plus a tournament. Four of those games will be home games, and the other four will involve travel to the fields of the local clubs that we will be playing. The tournament is usually held at the Ben Davis fields. Games will be primarily scheduled for Friday evenings, Saturdays after noon, and Sundays after 2pm.

The WCSSF has not yet published their spring calendar. We will share those dates when they do.

The WCSSF rules for the Teens age division are different in the Spring and in the Fall.
